Human beings must live and work in groups. The study of sociology provides a critical understanding of how societies work and how social institutions and social groups influence human behavior. Career possibilities include work in federal agencies, child welfare, seminar and workshop consultation, business, and education. The degree is also excellent preparation for law school or a graduate degree in social work. A Bachelor of Arts degree option is also available.
