MAT Elementary Licensure

The MAT Elementary Licensure curriculum consists of nine courses and a Teaching Practicum. Full-time students can complete this program in as little as 12 months.  Part-time students can elect to take courses at their own pace, completing the program in 15 or 24 months.

*Courses required for educator licensure.
** Students must successfully pass all sections of the Massachusetts Test for Educator Licensure (MTEL) in order to qualify to participate in the practicum course which is a requirement for licensure.

Students choosing the full-time 12 month program are recommended to explore taking the Massachusetts Test for Educator Licensure (MTEL) as soon as possible.  Visit http://www.doe.mass.edu/mtel/ for more information on registration and test dates.
