Master of Science in Human Services

The Master of Science in Human Services provides students the opportunity to learn skills and gain knowledge that will enable them to respond more effectively to social issues and challenges in their communities.

This is an online program.

The Master of Science in Human Services introduces students to a broad range of human service areas while being designed to allow students to tailor their focus to match their interest and career objectives. Pedagogically, the curriculum integrates core human services courses with courses in several areas of specialization. In addition to the core courses, the curriculum also includes a number of electives that enable students to gain specialized competency in a specific area, such as a focus on leadership, global studies, employee communication, and conflict resolution. The program is integrated through a final capstone project within which students explore a topic in their chosen area of specialization. Consistent with Northeastern's philosophy of practice-oriented education, courses combine theoretical principles with work-based application projects.
